Unique on a European scale, the museum is located in Soho Factory, a fashionable, post-industrial space that once housed the “Pocisk” ammunition factory and then the factories that produced the cult “Osa” scooters.

Here you can see over 200 neons, iconic lettering and fascinating stories – this museum is a must for any street art lover. Here, illuminated advertising is given a second life, which – after years of glory in communist times – fell into oblivion. Restored and colorful, they will delight your eye with their unusual design and evoke a touch of nostalgia.

Neons in socialist Poland had a different function than in capitalist countries. While in the West their role is always limited to advertising, in the PRL, where there was no free market, they served an informational and prestigious function. As a result of the so-called neonization action, which was controlled by the authorities, neons were placed in the urban space according to a carefully thought-out plan. They were designed for entire street sections so that they would form an integral part of the architecture – matched to each other in size and color, not blocking each other. Polish neons were designed by renowned graphic designers, artists and architects.
