Brighton Pier- a vibrant seaside city attraction with something for everyone

Brighton Pier (originally The Marine Palace and Brighton Pier, also known as Palace Pier) is a pier in Brighton, a city on the south coast of England. It is 524 meters long and was designed by R. ST Georgie Moore. It opened in May 1899. The pier is a popular tourist destination and a center of entertainment for families visiting Brighton. It has restaurants, bars, arcades, and an amusement park.

The local coast was favored by the Prince Regent, the future King of England, George IV of Hanover, at the beginning of the 19th century. At his behest, the building that is still the pride of the city today, the Royal Pavilion, was expanded and decorated. The palace with onion domes, studded with thin minarets-like towers, full of dragons on the walls and tree-like chandeliers, reflects British fascination with the exoticism of India and China.
Following the king’s example, members of the court elite flocked to Brighton for a holiday. This custom was consolidated under the reign of Queen Victoria. At the end of her reign, in 1899, a pier (Brighton Pier) was built. It attracts attention with the openwork decoration of the buildings erected on it. From it, one can admire flocks of seagulls and listen to the sound of the sea, either by walking on creaking planks or by using the deckchairs. Tea is drunk in the stylish Tea Room. Young people most often visit the huge arcade, and children the amusement park, located at the end of the building that juts out into the sea.
