The ticket gives you access to the guided tour of the castle, the inner courtyard and the Treasury.

Car– this is the most flexible option, but be aware that parking can be limited, especially during peak season. The castle has designated parking areas that can be reached by following signs from the main road. Here’s a tip: During peak season, consider arriving early to secure a parking spot.

Public Transportation– while possible, this option requires connections and may take longer than driving. Trains can take you to the nearby cities of Koblenz or Bullay, and from there you can take a bus or taxi to the castle.

• Train:
  • The closest train station to Eltz Castle is Moselkern station, located about 5 kilometers away. From major cities in Germany you can catch a train to Koblenz and then transfer to a regional train heading towards Cochem or Trier which will stop at Moselkern.
  • You can then walk from the station to the castle (approximately a 35-minute walk) or take the shuttle bus (costs €2) to the castle entrance during weekends and holidays from May to October.
  • Consider searching for train routes and schedules through Deutsche Bahn website
• Bus:
  • During weekends and holidays from May to October, a special Castle Bus (Burgenbus) operates in the area. This bus route picks up passengers from Treis-Karden, Mueden, Moselkern and Hatzenport and brings them to the car park near Eltz Castle.

Guided Tour– several tour companies offer day trips to Eltz Castle from various cities in Germany, including Frankfurt, Cologne, and Rudesheim. This can be a convenient option if you don’t want to worry about transportation and logistics.
